Mission Statement The Left Bank Concert Society celebrates the essential beauty of great chamber music with an emphasis on significant new works in concerts designed to both engage and inform. Scrupulously prepared programs reveal worldwide historical connections between compositions from the modern repertoire and their heritageexemplary music of the past. Corporate Information Founded and incorporated in July 2004, the Left Bank Concert Society is a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit chamber-music performance and outreach organization that follows in the longstanding tradition of musical societies formed to study and promote living composers and particular styles of music. The outstanding performance seasons and vital new-music education and composition projects of LBCS are intended to impart the artistry, relevance, and immediacy of great chamber music with an emphasis on contemporary works, especially those written by living composers. The multifaceted programs of LBCS are innovative and effective, and they are designed and delivered by highly accomplished musicians who are also longtime devoted advocates of contemporary music. LBCS is determined to bring new compositions to life in extraordinary settings accessible to the broadest possible array of students and audiences who, along with the musicians and composers of the present day, will certainly determine the trajectory of the future of fine music.
